LASSI, a traditional Punjabi drink is a mixture of various species, sugar, water, curd. It is usually served in large glasses made of heavy metal or clay.
Let me introduce with the most important sweet dish PANJIRI
It is a staple form of the Punjab region. It is treated as a nutritional supplement. It is made from the whole wheat flour fried sugar and ghee, heavily laced with dried fruits and herbal gums. It is usually eaten in the winter season just to ward off cold. It has been used for thousands of years, by the ancient hindus and then many centuries later by the Sikhs. Its use is quite ritualistic and meaningful.
Commonly seen suji ka halwa. It’s a time to get enchanted by the new dishes. Suji is the main ingredient in halwa, a pudding famous for the enormous amount of delicious ghee and butter in it. After seasoning it with almonds raisins and kesar milk.you will fall in love surely.
Aate ka halwa (karah parshad) it’s a type of halva made with equal proportions of wheat flour butter sugar and ghee. It is offered to all the visitors. As a sign of humanity and respect. Visitors accept this with hands raised and cupped. The offerings and receiving of this food is a vital part of hospitality. It also shows the equality.

Bringing and sending fresh fruits ,sweets as gifts to family members is a common practice in Punjab , particularly in spring season. Food items are distributed among the neighbors on special occasions as a sign of showing hospitality. It shows the love and respect to every person.
